Position Description

The Phoenix Centre for Children and Families, a fully accredited and progressive children's mental health centre, is inviting applications for a Family and Child Therapist position.  The Phoenix Centre is known for its innovative programs and practices; as well as its supportive and positive work environment.  The candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing counselling to children, youth and their families struggling with a variety of mental health concerns.

Responsibilities:

• to provide high quality, individual, family and group therapy within a strength-based model of practice
• to demonstrate strong clinical skills in assessment, formulation, and treatment with an ability to utilize flexible strategies for engaging and working with children, youth families and community systems
• to demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork and openness

Qualifications (e.g., skills, experience, degrees, certifications, etc.)

• M.S.W. or B.S.W. with minimum two years experience
• Bilingualism a definite asset
• Familiarity with a range of evidence based treatment modalities and approaches
• strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• competency in verbal and written communication
• travel required
