Position Description

Parents for Children’s Mental Health seeks Social Media Participants to assist with building their online presence and creating and participating in opportunities for discussion in the online forum.  We would need you for link building and socialization of organization. Familiarity with the internet, social media sites, search engines, discussion boards, blogs, video sharing sites and podcasting is an asset but a willingness to learn is essential. You must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to write and edit high quality content. The most important part of this job is a willingness to participate in and start conversations about PCMH and the issues of child and youth mental health, from either a family or personal lived experience point of view.  We are looking for a variety of contributors to help broaden our scope and our conversations.  You should have experience with a wide variety of social media activities such as blogging, facebook, twitter and already be established within the social media domain.  Honorariums for participation in our social media strategy are available and will be discussed with successful candidates.

Job responsibilities:

• Contribute strategy and solutions to building an online presence for PCMH
• Establish relationship with key bloggers
• Daily postings on Facebook and Twitter (acting as part of a team)
• Responding to conversations on Facebook and Twitter
• Guest blogs on our PCMH website
• A belief in the work of PCMH and the willingness to share and promote the work of PCMH and participate in building a social movement

Qualifications (e.g., skills, experience, degrees, certifications, etc.)

• Creativity
• Excellent writing skills
• Knowledge and awareness of the child and youth mental health sector and the work of PCMH
• Sense of humour
• Enjoyment of the social media forum
